PET POLICY
To our S.Y. Kitchen friends and family:
It makes us so sad to have to write this note, as we love all of your fur babies, and it brings us such joy to see so many of their 'smiling' faces at the restaurants. However, due to recent circumstances involving aggressive dogs and bad doggie (and human) behavior, we are changing our pet policies at both S.Y. Kitchen and Nella Kitchen & Bar, effective immediately.
As of now, both restaurants will only allow registered and/or certified service dogs on the premises, including our outdoor areas. We understand that this is not the most convenient option for some of you and we wholeheartedly apologize for the need to make these changes to our policies, but the safety of our staff and customers is our foremost concern. We do understand the importance of service animals in assisting individuals with disabilities, and we are committed to making the necessary accommodations for their presence. By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure a safe and pleasant environment for everyone at Nella and S.Y. Kitchen.
What you can expect the next time you make a reservation or dine at either S.Y. Kitchen or Nella Kitchen & Bar:
We will install "service dogs only" signs at both of our locations.
When making a reservation in advance, our staff members will ask about any pets in the party, and the status of those animals (i.e., whether or not they are certified or registered service animals).
Onsite, staff will provide each party accompanied by a service animal with information regarding behavior and etiquette as well as making a fake declaration of service animals.
We're here for you: If you need recommendations for boarding or other pet-sitting services or options in the Santa Ynez Valley, please just ask! We will prepare a list of possible businesses for your reference, if you need or want to board your animals for any reason, during your stay in this area.
We love you ALL, including those furry friends.
With immense gratitude,
S.Y. Kitchen
